CAIRO, Feb 23 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty had - under directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi - two phone calls with his Congolese and Rwandan counterparts; Thérèse Wagner and Olivier Nduhungirehe respectively.

Abdelyatty conveyed President Sisi's greetings to Presidents of DR Congo and Rwanda; Félix Tshisekedi and Paul Kagame.

During the phone calls, the talks tackled means of enhancing ties between Egypt and the two countries in various domains.

The talks also tackled the developments in eastern Congo.

Abdelatty underlined the importance of halting escalation and exercising self-restraint in order to reach a political settlement and restore regional stability.

The foreign minister underscored the importance of taking practical measures to alleviate the escalating humanitarian crisis in the region.

He accentuated Egypt's preparedness to offer all needed support to ease the crisis. (MENA)
