Speaking about results of the 8th edition of Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition "EGYPS 2025," which wraps up today, Madbouli said the event had seen the signing of some memorandums of understanding (MoUs) wit Cyprus, including agreements that would see Cyprus send offshore natural gas to Egypt, where liquefaction facilities would commercialize and reexport the gas, which affirms Egypt's crucial role as a regional hub for energy.
An executive plan for energy efficiency cooperation has also been signed between Egypt and Saudi Arabia during the three-day conference, organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources under the theme "Building a Secure and Sustainable Energy Future."
Madbouli also touched on his meeting with the Saudi minister of energy on the margins of the event, where they discussed electricity interconnection projects, along with some other energy cooperation projects.
Madbouli also spoke about his participation, on behalf of President Sisi, in the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, where he held several bilateral meetings with African leaders, who commended Egypt's strong return to Africa since President Sisi took the helm. They also praised the performance of Egyptian companies operating in their countries' construction and industrial sectors, whether private or state-owned companies, the premier pointed out. (MORE)
