MADRID, Feb 19 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday held extensive talks in Madrid with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
Held as part of Sisi’s official visit to Spain, the talks covered bilateral relations and regional developments.
Sánchez reaffirmed his country's firm rejection of Palestinian displacement and expressed full support for Egypt’s stance.
He also pledged Spain’s backing for the upcoming Arab Summit in Cairo, particularly regarding Gaza reconstruction efforts and ensuring Palestinians remain on their land, emphasizing the necessity of a two-state solution.
Following their talks, Sisi and Sánchez signed a declaration upgrading Egypt-Spain relations to a strategic partnership and witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding in various fields.
The two leaders later held a joint press conference, outlining the outcomes of their discussions and addressing regional files. (MENA)
