CAIRO, Feb 18 (MENA) – Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Khaled el-Bakly reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance against forced displacement of Palestinians from their land, reiterating Egypt's continued support of Palestinians in Gaza.

During a meeting with an EU Parliament delegation led by MEP Iratxe García, el-Baqly stated that 70% of aid entering Gaza through Rafah comes from Egyptian civil society.

He stressed the need to apply international law equally in handling conflicts and welcomed continued dialogue with the EU.

Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister Wael Badawy highlighted burdens Egypt endure as a result of hosting over 10 million migrants and refugees and providing them with services despite economic pressures.

He called for global responsibility-sharing to sustain Egypt’s efforts.

The EU delegation acknowledged Egypt’s role in humanitarian aid and refugee integration. They stressed the importance of cooperation in skill mobility programs to support development.

After the meeting, they visited the Rafah border crossing and Arish Hospital, where they met Palestinian patients. They also toured a relief storage facility for Gaza aid. (MENA)
