CAIRO, Feb 12 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted Wednesday Egypt's keenness on promoting ties with Seychelles.

The foreign minister pointed out to the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation in the various domains, especially the fields of trade, investment, infrastructure, agriculture and building capabilities.

During Abdelatty's meeting with Seychelles Foreign Minister Sylvestre Radegonde - on the sidelines of the meetings of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) - he highlighted the importance of supporting investment and trade cooperation with African countries, via a mechanism that would guarantee exports and investments in Africa with the aim of encouraging small and medium Egyptian companies.

He referred to Egypt's keenness on increasing the volume of trade exchange, together with the Egyptian companies drives to expand in Seychelles, especially in sectors that Egypt has competitive advantages including the sectors of medicine, fertilizers and engineering industries.

The Egyptian minister reiterated the importance of promoting cooperation to build capabilities and transfer the Egyptian expertise to Seychelles.

Abdelatty pointed out to the role of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) in presenting training programs and building capabilities in a number of sectors to contribute to supporting development efforts in Seychelles and the sisterly African countries.

At the end of the meeting, both ministers asserted the importance of boosting cooperation and coordination in the AU to contribute to supporting the interests of its member states. (MENA)
