CAIRO, Feb 12 (MENA) - Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Mukhtar Abdel Latif affirmed the organization's interest in promoting the slogan “Made in Egypt”, with a view to increasing local manufacturing rates and producing national products that meet the needs of the local market at competitive prices and in line with international quality standards.

During his participation Wednesday with the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk in the signing of a cooperation protocol between the AOI and the Agricultural Research Center (ARC), the AOI chairman voiced his appreciation and pride in ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, as well as his support for all aspects of joint cooperation.

He noted that the agreed upon areas of cooperation include various fields, covering the medicinal and aromatic plants, the localization of the perfume industry, recycling agricultural waste, agricultural mechanization of agricultural equipment and machinery, in addition to the various irrigation methods, along with a number of agricultural and industrial manufacturing fields.

For his part, Farouk underscored the importance of extending all required support from the ministry, with a view to expanding the production and localization of the perfume industry in Egypt.

All drives came in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to localize industries that are imported from abroad to save foreign currency reserves, he said.

The minister of agriculture also directed the ministry’s officials to remove any obstacles to the partnership with the AIO, adding that the implementation of the protocol should promptly come into effect, stressing the importance of agricultural industrialization in achieving an added value to the national product, providing job opportunities and opening new horizons for export that contribute to bringing hard currency to Egypt.
