CAIRO, Feb 4 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty underlined the keenness of the Egyptian and Turkish governments to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries in order to up the volume of trade exchange to dlrs 15 billion.
Abdelatty's remarks were made during his meeting in Ankara Tuesday with President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
During the meeting, Abdelatty lauded the remarkable progress in cooperation between the two countries, especially at the economic and trade levels, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
He also referred to the exchange of visits between high-level delegations from the two countries, added the spokesman.
The top Egyptian diplomat, meanwhile, pointed out to the measures taken by the government over the past period to provide a climate conducive to investment.
There are various promising investment opportunities for the Turkish investors in Egypt, the spokesman quoted Abdelatty as saying during the meeting.
The government is closely following up on the conditions of the Turkish investments in Egypt, he said, pointing out to the formation of a committee under the chairmanship of the investment and foreign trade minister to work on beefing up Turkish investments in Egypt.
He, meanwhile, underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation in the tourism sphere through linking Egyptian and Turkish resorts, a matter which will contribute to attaining mutual benefit for the two countries. (MENA)
