Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that he spoke with the Lebanese president on the importance of returning all Lebanese refugees to the South.
Abdelatty further expressed Egypt's full condemnation of the unjustified and unlawful targeting of Lebanese civilians as they returned to their homes.
He also underlined the importance of speeding up the formation of the Lebanese government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
The Egyptian top diplomat noted that he is holding constant contacts with Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Rashid Bouhabib.
Contacts are ongoing with the American and French sides to convey Egyptian messages on the importance of continuing the ceasefire and reaffirming the Egyptian position, which will not change, he added.
He stressed Egypt's keenness on the necessity of a complete and undiminished Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, without abandoning
from any inch of Lebanese sovereignty and territory.
He also affirmed the importance of forming the Lebanese government, adding: "We support all efforts to form a Lebanese government that does not exclude anyone." (MENA)
