AMMAN, Jan 31 (MENA) - Jordanian party leaders lauded the key positions of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II, against proposals to displace the Palestinian people.

The two leaders' stances represent "a defensive shield" against all proposals and attempts to displace the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to Egypt and Jordan.

President Sisi and the Jordanian King were the first to reject these attempts since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, they made it clear.

In statements to MENA on Friday, the party leaders cited President Sisi's explicit statements following his meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto in Cairo, in which he categorically rejected the displacement of the Palestinians as an "act of injustice".

During his meeting with EU officials in Belgium on Wednesday, the Jordanian King expressed Jordan’s firm position rejecting the proposals of the resettlement and an alternative homeland for the Palestinians, they added.

Secretary General of Jordan's New Path Party Fawzan al-Abadi said following US President Donald Trump's proposal to resettle the Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan, Cairo and Amman presented their firm position rejecting the forced displacement of Gaza residents, saying this matter "is not up for discussion".

Also, Secretary General of Jordanian al Ansar Party Awni Rjoub said all attempts and proposals on displacing the Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank will be doomed to fail.

The Palestinian people themselves directly responded to these suggestions and attempts through their return to the northern Gaza, he added. (MENA)
