CAIRO, Jan 23 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted that Egypt is paying a greater attention to strengthening ties with Uzbekistan at both the political and economic levels.
The country is developing existing cooperation mechanisms and encouraging collaboration among national economic institutions in the two countries, added Abdelatty during a telephone call he made with Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyar Saidov Thursday.
The contact dealt with relations binding Egypt and Uzbekistan.
The foreign minister underlined the importance of building on the outcomes of the seventh session of the Egyptian-Uzbek Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific And Technical Cooperation, which was held in the Uzbek capital Tashkent in December, 2024 and chaired by the minister of planning, economic development and international cooperation.
The session aimed at boosting investments and trade exchange along with enhancing cooperation between the private sectors in the two countries through the establishment of a joint businessmen council.
Meanwhile, Abdelatty voiced Egypt's appreciation for the solidarity of Uzbekistan with the Palestinian people. (MENA)
