CAIRO, Jan 23 (MENA) – Sudan cherishes its historical bonds with Egypt, said Sudanese Ambassador in Cairo Emad Adawi.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to advance investment relations between the two Nile Basin countries, highlighting the many available opportunities and advantages that can contribute to pushing joint cooperation to broader horizons.

In a speech at the first Sudanese Businessmen Forum that kicked off Thursday at the headquarters of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) in Cairo, he appreciated the efforts of the Egyptian government in improving the quality of investments.

He pointed out to the growing desire among Sudanese businessmen and investors to enter the Egyptian market and create smart partnerships with their Egyptian peers.

Adawi appreciated the positive response of the Egyptian state and its various institutions to the recommendations of the first forum for Egyptian and Sudanese businessmen, which was organized by the Embassy of Sudan in Egypt under the patronage of Kamel al Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Affairs and Minister of Industry and Transport, on November 23.

The Sudanese government aspires for an effective Egyptian participation in the activities of the second edition of the forum, which will be held in the city of Port Sudan during the first half of this year, according to him. (MENA)
