In his statements, the foreign minister said there are major opportunities in the Chadian market, particularly in the construction, agriculture and energy (new and renewable energy) sectors.

Abdelatty added that during the recent visit of Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby to Egypt in July, and his meeting with President Sisi, the two sides agreed on the "Land Connection" project.

This major project represents a major development corridor linking Safaga city and port overlooking the Red Sea and the Chadian city of Umm Jaras, passing through the Libyan territory, he underlined.

There will be a fiber-optic internet network close to the road to revolutionize communications and internet services within Chad.

Many urban projects and agricultural communities will also be set up on both sides of this road, the minister said, adding there is a great desire to shore up ties between Egypt and Chad in all domains.

The Egyptian companies had very important meetings, in his presence with Chadian Minister of Infrastructure Aziz Mahamat Saleh.

They also had meetings with officials of the ministries of communications and health, indicating that there is great opportunity to enhance cooperation with the city of medicine, known as (GYPTO Pharma), Abdelatty said.

Also, there is talk about the entry of Egyptian medicines into the Chadian market as the Egyptian medicines are known by their affordable price, outstanding effectiveness, and top quality, Abdelatty further noted.

He expressed his optimism about the future of ties between Egypt and Chad, noting that there will be a joint committee, co-chaired by the foreign ministers and the membership of technical ministers from the two countries.

It will convene in Cairo in March 2025 to review these projects and discuss their implementation, Abdelatty added.

As for the issue of financing, he said that there are many innovative ideas to address this issue and provide financing sources to fulfill these projects, under equal deals mechanism. (MORE)
