CAIRO, Dec 2 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty voiced appreciation for repeated calls by the World Food Program (WFP) to secure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The minister of foreign affairs, in a meeting with WFP's Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Carl Skau early Monday, said Egypt is thankful for the WFP’s important role in supporting humanitarian relief efforts around the globe.
Egypt is willing to provide all facilitations to support WFP action, Abdelatty told Skau during the meeting held on the fringe of the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Enhance the Humanitarian Response in Gaza, which will kick off later Mondy.
The WFP is still working despite grave challenges and repeated targeting of its staff, Abdelatty said, noting that Israel’s starvation policy has unprecedentedly aggravated the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting also took up the latest developments in Sudan and joint efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people amid deteriorating conditions in the Arab country. (MENA)
