CAIRO, Nov 28 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Thursday Egypt supports every step to serve the stability of Lebanese state institutions.

This came during phone calls made by Abdelatty with a number of heads of Lebanese political parties and movements, including Samir Geagea, head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samy Gemayel, head of the Kataeb Party, Suleiman Frangieh, head of the Marada Movement, and Gebran Bassil, head of the Free Patriotic Movement.

The top diplomat expressed Egypt's hope that the ceasefire agreement would constitute a step forward towards building a new phase in Lebanon and for enhancing the role of national institutions, topped by the Lebanese army, with the aim of achieving security and stability and preserving Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

For their part, the heads of the Lebanese parties and movements expressed their deep appreciation for Egypt's support for Lebanon on the political and humanitarian levels.

Also, they expressed their determination to exert all efforts possible to achieve security and stability in all parts of Lebanon, in a manner that fulfills the interests and aspirations of the Lebanese people. (MENA)
