CAIRO, Nov 22 (MENA) - Egypt and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) reiterated commitment to promoting bilateral relations and continued consultation on strategic issues of common interest.

A joint statement issued Friday, at the end of visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty to the DRC said that within the framework of the bilateral and fraternal relations between Egypt and the DRC the Egyptian foreign minister headed a high-level delegation on a working visit to Kinshasa during the period from 21 to 22 November.

Abdelatty conveyed a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to President of the DRC Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, the statement added.

In his message, President Sisi referred to strong relations صحbinding the two countries, according to the statement.

The Egyptian minister received a warm welcome Thursday at the headquarters of the DRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie, as he chaired with DRC Minister of Foreign Affairs, international Cooperation and la Francophonie
Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner a round of political consultations on issues of common interest, as well as the security and humanitarian situation in the DRC, including the east of the country, said the statement.

The two parties also signed a bilateral framework cooperation agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special and mission passports, it added.

They also affirmed commitment to holding constant consultations on key strategic issues of common interest, the statemen said.

Abdelatty also invited Wagner to a working visit to Cairo to be soon scheduled, according to the statement. (MENA)
