CAIRO, July 18 (MENA) – Egypt condemned in the strongest possible terms the Israeli occupation forces' bombardment and targeting of places of worship in the Gaza Strip, including both mosques and churches, most recently the Holy Family Church, the only Catholic church in the Gaza Strip.

Egypt condemned the act as yet another grave crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration expressed Egypt’s deep concern regarding the systematic breaches by Israeli forces of fundamental principles of international humanitarian law during their ongoing military operations against innocent Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Egypt urged the international community to promptly undertake decisive measures to halt these violations and hold Israel accountable, as the occupying power, for its legal obligations to safeguard places of worship and preserve the inviolability of all holy sites under any circumstances. (MENA)
