CAIRO, June 29 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli instructed relevant authorities to complete all repair and maintenance work on the Regional Ring Road within specific, binding deadlines, while ensuring full compliance with safety and security protocols during implementation.
These directives came during a follow-up meeting chaired by Madbouli to oversee the implementation of the orders of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi regarding compensation for victims of a recent tragic Regional Ring Road accident, as well as the expedited development and repair works on the road, with a focus on traffic safety.
The premier asserted the need to separate the movement of private vehicles and heavy transport trucks in sections of the road undergoing repairs and upgrades. He also called for increased traffic patrols, a greater number of speed cameras and surveillance systems, and strict enforcement of traffic regulations to detect and penalize violations, particularly those committed by truck drivers.
He further directed authorities to conduct regular and surprise drug tests for truckers, especially on highways, within short intervals.
He instructed the ministers of education and higher education to grant full exemption from tuition fees to the families of the 19 young female victims who tragically lost their lives in the accident.
He directed the minister of social solidarity to provide exceptional pensions to the grieving families.
Madbouli also tasked the governor of Menoufia with naming public buildings and streets in the victims’ hometown of Kafr Al Sanabsa after the 19 young women, ensuring their memory is commemorated. (MENA)
