CAIRO, June 21 (MENA) - Egypt rejects and condemns the Israeli aggression against Iran, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said.
Addressing an extraordinary session on the Israeli aggression against Iran during a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council at the level of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul on Saturday, Abdelatty described the Israeli aggression that began at the dawn of June 13 as a dangerous and alarming escalation in regional tensions to levels never witnessed in the Middle East, according to a press release.
He emphasized the need to stop Israeli hostilities against Iran, and adopt an unequivocal approach to reduce ongoing tensions to reach a ceasefire and a comprehensive truce that allows for returning to the table of negotiations.
Abdelatty expressed Cairo’s grave concern over the Israeli aggression, which constitutes a blatant escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and a direct threat to regional as well as international security and stability. (MORE)
