CAIRO, June 4 (MENA) - The Cabinet, during its meeting Wednesday chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, approved a draft presidential decree on a cooperation agreement between Egypt's National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) regarding the ITU’s Innovation Accelerators.

ITU has launched the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development. The alliance contributes to building critical local enablers to lead in the changing digital environment.

The alliance supports efforts to enhance member states' capability of integrating innovation and digital transformation into their national development agendas. This includes encouraging public-private partnerships and strengthening the human and institutional capacities of ITU member states in the field of telecommunications and information technology to advance digital transformation.

Egypt's NTRA has been selected as one of the 17 Innovation Acceleration Centers globally and is one of only three centers chosen worldwide—alongside China and Kenya—in July 2023. (MENA)
