CAIRO, June 3 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli emphasized the importance of the regular convening of the Egypt-US Forum, underlining the need to follow up on its outcomes, particularly in attracting American investments and facilitating US company entry into the Egyptian market.

He also referenced the recent meeting between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US corporate representatives, during which several key topics were discussed.

This came during a high-level meeting between Madbouli and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Expatriates and Emigration Badr Abdelatty, held at the government headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

The meeting reviewed the foreign policy priorities and diplomatic efforts being led by the ministry in response to presidential directives.

Madbouli reiterated Egypt’s commitment, under Sisi’s leadership, to achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, in close coordination with Qatar and the US. He also stressed the importance of preparing effectively for the Gaza Reconstruction Conference, which will be held once a ceasefire is secured.

He affirmed Egypt’s position that rebuilding Gaza must take place without displacing its population, in line with the previously adopted Arab-Islamic reconstruction plan.

In another context, Madbouli commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other involved ministries for their strong organization of last month’s Egypt-US Forum in Cairo, which served as a platform to showcase Egypt’s ongoing economic reform program and the positive recognition it received from international financial institutions.

Meanwhile, Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s continued efforts in securing a ceasefire in Gaza in collaboration with regional and international partners.

He reviewed efforts to strengthen economic and trade ties with Arab and African countries and noted preparations for several upcoming high-level joint committees chaired by prime ministers, including those with Lebanon and Jordan.

Abdelatty also briefed the PM on his recent diplomatic tour to Mauritania and Morocco, where Egypt and Morocco agreed to form a Joint Coordination and Follow-up Committee led by both countries’ Prime Ministers. The initiative will be supervised by President Sisi and King Mohammed VI of Morocco to bolster bilateral cooperation. (MENA)
