CAIRO, May 24 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli visited Giza to follow up on infrastructure development in the expanded area of Sheikh Zayed City.

The extension, based on a 2017 presidential decree, added over 8,000 feddans to the city.

He was accompanied by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbini Giza Governor Adel el Naggar, and other senior officials.

The expansion follows Presidential Decree No. 77 of 2017, which added 8,336 feddans to the city. The land has been legally settled, and permits have been issued for launching integrated urban projects.

The main 1200 mm water pipeline feeding the area has been completed and is now in operation.

Ongoing work includes road construction and full utility networks. Initial roadwork covers 10 km, with another 15 km in preparation. Water, sewage, and irrigation lines are being installed, along with service connections tied to nearby residential and airport areas.

During his visit, the Premier also called for continued coordination among the authorities concerned to complete the works on schedule and meet the growing needs of the city’s new districts. (MENA)
