CAIRO, May 11 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Sunday honored key partners of “Takaful and Karama” program, during a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the national social protection initiative.
Among those recognized were representatives of relevant government bodies, academics, international organizations, UN agencies in Egypt, lawmakers, and the head of the House of Representatives’ Social Solidarity Committee.
Former prime minister Ibrahim Mahlab received special recognition for his efforts in launching and supporting the program, during an event also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, several current and former ministers, Lebanon’s minister of social affairs, and governors.
Madbouli emphasized the government's dedication to improving social protection measures and the quality of services for citizens.
The prime minister was briefed on the program’s upgraded electronic platform, which incorporates artificial intelligence tools to streamline applications and follow-up procedures.
The new system enables illiterate individuals and visually impaired users to submit voice complaints from home, while also introducing sign-language training for support staff to better assist people with hearing disabilities.
Officials also demonstrated how people with visual impairments can now apply for Karama assistance via WhatsApp, offering a faster and more accessible service. (MENA)
