CAIRO, April 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Sunday discussed with officials of Mansour Automotive Group plans of establishing a new automotive factory in New October City and starting manufacturing.

This came during the premier's meeting with officials of Mansour Automotive Group at the headquarters of the government in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel el Wazir, Mansour Group Chairman Mohamed Mansour and the CEO of the group Ankush Arora.

During the meeting, Madbouli emphasized the state's keenness on supporting industry, especially the automotive manufacturing through providing facilitation and incentives contributing to the development of this vital sector, in accordance with state's goals in the domain of economic development and increasing Egyptian exports.

Wazir said that the ministry of industry is keen on supporting the company to overcome any challenges facing the establishment of its new factory, which is envisaged to create 10,000 job opportunities.

Meanwhile, Mansour praised the government's achievements and development in the New Administrative Capital, as well as its sustained efforts to achieve economic development amid the current regional and international challenges.

Mansour group chairman made a presentation about the group's new car factory and the Mansour factory for vehicle filters, with total investments amounting to 150 million dollars, noting that the factories will be representing a strategic step towards developing the automotive industry in Egypt.

He added that the group has signed a usufruct agreement with the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports (GALDP) to build its new factory in the industrial zone of New October City.

Mansour said that the group plans to start production during the third quarter of 2026, with an initial production capacity of 50,000 units in the first phase.

Production is set to be doubled in the second phase to reach 100,000 units annually, with a local component percentage exceeding 45 percent, Mansour said, adding that the factory will include diverse car manufacturing units.

The total area of the new factory will be 47,500 square meters, situated on a land plot estimated at 126,000 square meters, Mansour added. (MENA)
