EL ARISH, Egypt, April 8 (MENA) - Thousands of Egyptians on Tuesday rallied in El Arish city in North Sinai governorate to receive President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron and express their opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip and support the political leadership's decisions on the Palestinian cause.
They took to streets and squares of El-Arish and raised the national flags of Egypt and Palestine, and photos of President Sisi.
They carried banners that read: "Gaza is not for sale", "No to forced displacement", and "100 million behind you Mr. President".
El Arish residents also welcomed delegations coming from different governorates, representing all segments of the Egyptian society, to deliver a clear and strong message of solidarity and their rejection of any attempt to change the nature of the conflict in the region or harm the territorial sovereignty of Egypt.
They stressed the unity of the Egyptians in the face of the serious challenges to the country's national security.
Sinai chieftains expressed their categorical rejection of any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians to Sinai, stressing that Sinai land is not for sale and is not subject to negotiation. (MENA)
