CAIRO, March 23 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Sunday with journalists accredited to the Foreign Ministry in the presence of a host of thinkers and Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh.

Abdelatty talked about the consecutive regional and international developments as well as the unprecedented challenges Egypt is witnessing.

The top diplomat stressed that Egypt is adopting a strategic and balanced principle in its international relations, expounding the priorities of the Egyptian foreign policy in accordance with presidential directives, atop of which are defending national security and national interests, promoting national economy and stimulating investments.

Abdelatty referred to the Palestinian issue, lauding the outcome of the latest Arab summit and strenuous efforts by Egypt to rally Arab support for the Gaza early recovery and reconstruction plan.

He reviewed Egyptian stance towards developments in Syria, Sudan and the Horn of Africa as well as Egyptian-African relations and Egypt's water security.

He underlined the important role played by media in raising awareness about foreign challenges facing Egypt, especially at this critical timing.

Abdelatty chatted with attendees on a number of international issues and their ramifications on national security of Egypt. (MENA)
