CAIRO, March 13 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Thursday briefed Thailand's Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa on developments in the region as well as Egypt's efforts to consolidate the three-phased ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
During a phone call received by Abdelatty form his Thai counterpart, the Egyptian top diplomat underscored the importance of ensuring access of the humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip along with securing requirements of the early recovery to address the severe destruction of the enclave.
Abdelatty highlighted key outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit and key points of the Egyptian reconstruction plan for Gaza.
Egypt will host a high- level ministerial conference in April, in collaboration with the Palestinian authority and the UN, to mobilize support to the Arab reconstruction plan.
For his part, the Thai top diplomat commended Egypt's successful efforts to release the five Thai hostages that were detained in the Gaza Strip.
The two ministers discussed developments in bilateral relations between Egypt and Thailand, seeing an eye to eye the importance of leveraging the positive momentum that bilateral relations have witnessed over the past year, in light of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
