CAIRO, March 10 (MENA) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday received a phone call from his Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied.
The call touched on bilateral relations, with the two presidents praising the development witnessed in bilateral relations and emphasizing their keenness to foster joint cooperation in various fields, especially the economic and trade ones, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said.
Sisi and Saied emphasized their interest in opening broader horizons for joint work in all issues of common interest in a way that helps meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
They also exchanged views regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and reviewed Egyptian efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement and enforce humanitarian aid deliveries.
On that score, the Tunisian president praised the Arab plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip that was prepared by Egypt, stressing his country's support for the plan that allows the start of the reconstruction process without displacing Palestinians.
In the same regard, the two presidents affirmed their complete and absolute rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
They stressed that the establishment of a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital is the only guarantee of permanent peace in the region.
The call also addressed the situation in Libya and Syria, with the two leaders affirming their keenness on preserving the stability, unity and sovereignty of the two countries over their entire territories and the safety of their peoples from the dangers of conflict and division. (MENA)
