CAIRO, March 6 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday chaired a meeting of the social justice ministerial committee to follow up on progress made in applying the unified subsidy card system, as part of efforts to automate services and enhance transparency.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed, Local Development Minister Manal Awad, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsy, Supply and Internal Trade Minister Sherif Farouk, Housing Minister Sherif el-Sherbiny, Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk, Labor Minister Mohamed Gobran and Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, said Spokesman for the Cabinet Mohamed el-Homosani.
According to the spokesman, the new system is aimed at providing a package of services for citizens through a single smart card, as an alternative to the current food ration cards.
The unified card contributes to adding flexibility to the subsidy system and governing citizens' access to various government services, Homosani said. (MENA)
