CAIRO, Feb 9 (MENA) - Mohamed Awad Taj el Din, the Advisor to the President for health and prevention affairs, on Sunday said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued directives to expand the coverage of the Comprehensive Health Insurance System nationwide throughout the current year 2025 to ensure the provision of health services to a larger number of people.

Taj el Din said that the president has adopted the Universal Health Insurance Project along with the improvement of healthcare in Egypt.

The presidential advisor, in exclusive statements to Nile Radio, said that the Comprehensive Health Insurance System was initially applied in Port said governorate, then extended to other governorates.

He added that it is currently covering six governorates, with plans for extension to other governorates during the current year.

Taj el Din emphasized the importance of private sector participation, with its radiology centers, analysis laboratories and medical supplies, in order to provide further healthcare services and achieve integration in this vital sector. (MENA)
