CAIRO, Jan 9 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reiterated Thursday Egypt's stance in support of the Palestinian Authority (PA).
The top diplomat also reiterated Egypt's rejection of any schemes meant to displace the Palestinians from their lands.
The foreign minister made the remarks while receiving a delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Spokesman for the Foreign and Emigration Ministry Tamim Khallaf said Abdelatty was keen on reviewing Egypt's efforts and contacts to stop the war on the Gaza Strip and reach a ceasefire deal in Gaza, along with ensuring the complete and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian assistance into the Strip.
The foreign minister highlighted Egyptian efforts to rally up support for the recognition of the Palestinian state at the international arena and expounded contacts made by Egypt with all countries to find a permanent and just solution to the Palestinian cause through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders with al Quds as its capital.
Abdelatty underlined the necessity of closing Palestinian ranks, highlighting the role of the PA in materializing the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
Abdelatty was posted on the assessment of the PLO's delegation members on the latest developments in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. (MENA)
