CAIRO, Jan 7 (MENA) – A security source at the Egyptian Ministry of Interior has dismissed as false a video circulated by media outlets affiliated with the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group, accusing police in Upper Egypt of killing civilians.

Authorities identified and arrested the individual in the video, who has a criminal record with 37 prior charges, including theft, harassment, and assault. The ministry stated that the allegations were fabricated to obstruct legal action against criminals.

Legal measures have been taken against him for spreading false claims.

The ministry emphasized that the Muslim Brotherhood’s circulation of such videos is part of its ongoing efforts to spread misinformation, create unrest, and undermine public trust. (MENA)
