RAMALLAH, Dec 29 (MENA) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that the international community's silence on the ongoing genocide and displacement of the Palestinian people encourages the occupation government to expand its crimes against Palestinian civilians and systematically destroy all aspects of life in Gaza, Palestinian news agency (WAFA) said.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry emphasized that double standards have rendered the international community paralyzed and blind to any legal, humanitarian, or moral perspective on the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The ministry stressed that the international community’s failure is evident in the inability to halt the ongoing genocide in Gaza, now on its 450th day, which has caused five babies to freeze to death due to the extreme cold and led to 90 days of mass killing, destruction, displacement and starvation in northern Gaza.

The ministry said that the collapsing tents have been flooded and turned into mass graves above ground for Palestinian families in northern Gaza, amid official Israeli statements rejecting calls to end the aggression and instead vowing to expand the genocide and forced displacement.

The ministry affirmed that it is closely following up on the details of the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people at all international levels.

It warned that the international community’s failure to uphold United Nations resolutions calling for an end to the aggression risks widening the scope of violence and war.

This failure weakens any reliance on the credibility of international institutions in enforcing international law and humanitarian law, as well as undermines the global solidarity movements supporting the Palestinian cause and rights, stressed the ministry in a statement.

The ministry held the occupying state, Israel, and the countries that support it fully responsible for the continued legal and humanitarian incapacity of the international community to halt the genocide of the Palestinian people. (MENA)
