CAIRO, Jan 5 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed the government to step up efforts aimed at carrying out integrated development and logistics projects to turn Egypt into a world trade hub.
This came during a meeting held Sunday by the president with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El Wazir and Presidential Advisor for Urban Development Amir Sayed Ahmed.
Presidential spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy said the president was posted on the progress achieved in projects carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Industry to modernize and operate ports across the country.
According to Shennawy, the meeting also dealt with projects linking Egypt with Africa especially in the fields of railways and maritime transport to activate trade with African countries where the president called for taking all measures to step up linkage efforts with African brethren in line with the continental the development agenda 2063 and relevant African Union programs.
He added the president reviewed developments related to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) to serve urban, industrial and tourist areas. (MENA)
