CAIRO, Jan 6 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli followed up on efforts to secure energy supplies needed to sustain the operation of power plants during a meeting held Monday evening with Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the goal of the meeting is to secure the energy supplies needed to sustain the operation of power plants during the coming period, ensuring the provision of the electrical capacities needed by Egyptian families and the continuation of the work of various economic activity sectors.
The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy said there is full coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to work on increasing the rates of electricity generation from highly efficient plants.
The minister presented the various efforts of the ministry to increase the rate of production capacities from new and renewable energy, as well as the executive stance of the Egyptian-Saudi electrical interconnection project.
He referred to efforts by the government during the past period to pay the monthly bill of foreign partners' dues, which contributes to accelerating the pace of production again.
Badawi presented the exploratory drilling plan during 2025/2026, which contributes to providing an import bill for Egypt during the coming period. (MENA)
