CAIRO, Nov 22 (MENA) - Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides underlined the depth of strategic ties between his country and Egypt.
This came during his meeting with Ambassador Mohamed Zaazou, who presented his credentials as the new ambassador of Egypt to Cyprus.
The ceremony of presentation of the letters of credence was followed by a meeting between the Egyptian diplomat and the Cypriot president, during which the Cypriot president congratulated the Egyptian ambassador on assuming his new position.
He also stressed the Cypriot side’s keenness to provide support to the new Egyptian ambassador with the view to developing bilateral ties.
For his part, Amb. Zaazou expressed his keenness to make efforts to consolidate ties between the two countries in all fields, and intensify political, economic and cultural activities.
They also reviewed the investment opportunities available in Egypt, and the developments witnessed by the Egyptian economy in the recent period.
The two sides exchanged views on the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in view of geographical proximity and the existence of common regional challenges, particularly in the Middle East region.
They underlined the necessity of intensifying bilateral consultation and coordination on all regional and international issues of mutual interest. (MENA)
