CAIRO, June 24 (MENA) - Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Mokhtar Abdel Latif said that SEMAF factory succeeded in increasing the local component proportion and transferring the latest manufacturing technologies for metro carriages, in accordance with the Fourth Industrial Revolution's standards.

Abdel Latif made the remarks during his participation on Monday in an event to celebrate the manufacture of ten air-conditioned 80-car metro trains produced by SEMAF factory, in cooperation with South Korea's Hyundai Rotem.

This achievement comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives on the importance of establishing an advanced technological industrial base as per Egypt's Vision 2030.

AOI chairman lauded the distinguished technical experience of Hyundai Rotem in making subway cars.

He said that SEMAF's advanced manufacturing capabilities served as a catalyst for cooperation with the South Korean company in manufacturing metro carriages.

On his part, a regional director of Hyundai Rotem commended the efficiency and the highest quality standards showed by the AOI in manufacturing the ten metro cars.

Hyundai Rotem's director said the company looks forward to making the best use of SEMAF's advanced manufacturing capabilities and skilled workforce. (MENA)
