CAIRO, Aug 1 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued directives on Monday for the comprehensive development of Shaq el Tho'ban area in southern Cairo to transform it into an integrated zone under the name of "city of marble and granite" so that it would be eco-friendly and deal with solid waste in a safe and scientific manner.

This came during President Sisi’s meeting with Director General of the Armed Forces’ National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) Walid Abul Magd and Chairman of the National Contracting Company Karam Salem.

Sisi’s directives come within the framework of the State’s efforts to develop domestic industries and reduce environmental pollution, while attaching importance to raising the efficiency of infrastructure in the area to upgrade various services there, including electricity, water and sanitation, and electricity feeding, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The meeting touched on overall projects carried out by NSPO nationwide, added the spokesman. (MENA)
