GAZA CITY, July 9 (MENA) - The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 16 Palestinians were martyred as a result of ongoing Israeli occupation bombardment of areas in the Gaza Strip since dawn Wednesday.

A statement carried out by Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) said, 11 Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli occupation bombed a house in Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City.

Moreover, a Palestinian citizen and his son were killed when the occupation forces bombed a house in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza Strip, the statement said.

Furthermore, two other Palestinians were martyred and others were injured as Israeli drones targeted tents sheltering displaced people west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, it added. Another Palestinian was also martyred and others injured when Israeli warplanes bombed the Al-Kharoubi family home near Al-Mawqef area in Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, the statement read.

Eight Palestinians were martyred and dozens injured in Israeli occupation bombardment of Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, according to the statement.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have launched an aggression on the Gaza Strip that has resulted in the martyrdom of 57,575 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women and the injury of 136,879 others, according to incomplete figures, as many victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, unreachable by ambulance and rescue crews.
