EL ALAMEIN, Egypt, July 8 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a meeting Tuesday with CEO of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM) Alexey Likhachev.

Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mahmoud Esmat, head of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) Sherif Helmy Mahmoud, along with Andrey Petrov, head of Atomstroyexport (ASE) - a subsidiary of the Russian Rosatom and Russian ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko took part in the meeting that was held in El Alamein City.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shenawy said, the meeting is a part of the Rosatom CEO’s visit to Egypt to sign, with the minister of electricity, the supplementary intergovernmental agreement between Egypt and Russia regarding the construction of El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, as well as related protection systems.

Both the ASE and the NPPA aim to ink a supplementary contract related to construction details, design, procurement and execution.

Shenawy added that the meeting addressed progress on El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Project for peaceful civilian use, along with all related technical and procedural details. (MENA)
