CAIRO, June 23 (MENA) - The Evangelical Church in Egypt under Reverend Andrea Zaki strongly condemned on Monday the heinous terrorist attack that targeted Mar Elias Church in Damascus, Syria.

The Evangelical Church described the attack as a grave violation of human dignity, religious freedom and the sanctity of life and worship.

In a statement, the Church mourned the victims of the deadly explosion that struck the church in Dweilaa district of Damascus, leaving 20 people dead and more than 50 other injured.

It reiterated firm rejection of terrorism in all forms, describing it as “an assault on humanity,” and emphasized the need for strengthening a culture of peace, coexistence and mutual respect. (MENA)
