SOFIA, June 7 (MENA) - Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will pay official visits to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During both visits, the Bulgarian head of State will hold high-level meetings and participate in economic forums

The delegation led by the Bulgarian president comprises representatives of Bulgarian companies and organizations from the fields of innovation, industry, high technology, defense, and more, the Bulgarian president's Press Secretariat was quoted by the Bulgarian News Agency as saying on Saturday.

During his visit to Kazakhstan, the president will discuss opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. A key focus will be promoting trade and economic relations with Kazakhstan, which is a major partner of the EU in Central Asia. Upon his arrival in Astana, President Radev will hold a private meeting with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

On June 9, President Radev will be officially welcomed with a ceremonial reception at the Akorda Residence by President Tokayev. The two leaders will have a one-on-one meeting, followed by plenary talks between the official delegations of both countries. The presidents will also make a joint statement to the media.

In their presence, several agreements will be signed: a memorandum of understanding on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, a memorandum on cooperation between the diplomatic institutes of the two countries, and agreements for cooperation between the cities of Sofia and Astana, and between Plovdiv and Shymkent.

Presidents Radev and Tokayev will participate in the Kazakhstan-Bulgaria Business Forum organized by the national company "Kazakh Invest." While in Astana, President Radev will also meet with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and visit the Astana International Financial Centre.

President Radev’s official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan will begin on June 10. He and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov will pay tribute at the Monument of Independence in New Uzbekistan Park. This will be followed by an official welcoming ceremony at the Kuksaroy Residence by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Radev and Mirziyoyev will hold a one-on-one meeting and will lead the plenary talks between the official delegations.

The Presidents of Bulgaria and Uzbekistan will sign a joint declaration to enhance bilateral political dialogue and cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, connectivity, culture, and educational exchange. A cooperation program for the 2026–2027 period between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries will also be signed, along with a memorandum of understanding between Sofia Municipality and Tashkent Municipality.

The Bulgarian head of state will also participate in the high-level panel of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be opened by the President of Uzbekistan. This event, held annually since 2022, brings together investors from around the world to foster cooperation. During the visit, President Radev will also address participants at the Bulgaria-Uzbekistan Business Forum. In Tashkent, he will meet with Tanzila Norbaeva, Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Uzbekistan). (MENA)
