CAIRO, June 4 (MENA) - Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices posted collective gains at the close of Wednesday transactions - ahead of Eid al Adha holiday - prompted by purchases by local and foreign investment funds and institutions and foreign investors against sales by Arab investment funds and institutions and investors.
The market capital gained EGP 17 billion, registering about EGP 2.309 trillion, amid transactions that totaled EGP 20 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index jumped 1 percent, ending at 32,677.87 points.
The broader EGX 70 EWI index of the leading small and mid-cap enterprises (SMEs) increased 0.33 percent, closing at 9,725.99 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose 0.52 percent, recording 13,189.59 points.
It is worth noting that EGX will start Eid al Adha vacation as of Thursday, June 5 and will resume trading on Tuesday, June 10. (MENA)
