Abdelatty highlighted intensive efforts exerted by members of the committee to encourage friendly nations, particularly France, to recognize the state of Palestine.
He underscored the importance of international solidarity with the Palestinian people during their current plight, asserting that the international community must not turn its back on them.
Abdelatty stated that : "Such a step by France and other countries would be extremely important in providing hope to the Palestinian people that the international community stands with them, with political horizon envisaged to lead to the realization of a Palestinian state."
The top Egyptian diplomat added that: "Discussions are ongoing regarding the continuous coordination for holding the Cairo International Conference for Gaza's Early Recovery and Reconstruction, once a ceasefire is achieved."
He described the situation in the Gaza Strip as "dismal", underscoring: "The crucial need to provide all support for the Palestinian people to remain on their land, cling to their national soil, and unequivocally reject all displacement schemes, which Jordan and Egypt will strongly oppose."
Preparations for Cairo conference are under way with all international parties, including the United Nations and the World Bank, Abdelatty said.
He added that the governance of the Gaza Strip and security arrangements will figure high on the conference agenda, that focuses on early recovery in the first months to stabilize the Palestinian people on their land, followed by the implementation of reconstruction phases. (MENA)
