RAMALLAH, June 1 (MENA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed grave concern Saturday over the Israeli government's decision to block the entry of a high-level ministerial delegation formed by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Gaza.
In a statement carried by the Palestinian
News Agency WAFA, the Foreign Ministry said the delegation, scheduled to visit the Palestinian territories Sunday, had planned to enter via airspace over the occupied West Bank—controlled by Israel.
The Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the move, describing it as a blatant violation of Israel’s obligations under international law as the occupying power, the statement read.
The decision also breaches signed agreements and reflects Israel’s continued defiance of the international community, as well as its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people, it added.
The blocked delegation included top diplomats from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, who had planned to hold coordination meetings in Ramallah with President Mahmoud Abbas. (MENA)
