SOFIA, May 29 (MENA) - Bulgaria and Hungary have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the sports field, the Youth and Sports Ministry in Sofia said on Thursday.
"This cooperation reflects trust, commitment and shared responsibility for the development of sports in the two countries. I am optimistic about the successful implementation of our future joint initiatives," the Bulgarian News Agency quoted the country's Youth and Sports Minister Ivan Peshev as saying at the signing of the memorandum of cooperation with Hungary's Defense Ministry.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto signed the memorandum on behalf of Hungary.
Under the document, the two countries will exchange experience among coaches, experts, specialists, and researchers in elite sport, grassroots sport, student sport, and sport for people with disabilities. The document provides for joint initiatives aimed at developing sports infrastructure, organizing seminars and conferences, exchanging information and educational materials, and conducting joint training camps and friendly matches.
Particular emphasis is placed on promoting traditional sports, implementing joint projects in swimming, canoe-kayaking, and handball, and providing mutual support at international sports forums. (MENA)
