CAIRO, May 22 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held a meeting on Thursday to review the latest updates on the Ras El Hekma development project in Egypt’s northwest coast, in Matrouh Governorate.
During the talks, Madbouli stressed the project's national importance for attracting foreign investment, boosting tourism, creating jobs, and generating long-term economic value.
He also called for close coordination with the UAE to ensure a timely land handover and implementation.
The meeting addressed compensation for residents and relocation to Shams El Hekma, where infrastructure and services are being prepared. Progress includes roadworks and a school.
The meeting included Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel Al Wazir, Minister of Housing Sherif El Sherbiny, Matrouh Governor Khaled Shuaib, and other officials.
For his part, Al Wazir reported ongoing coordination with the UAE on the project's first phase and construction progress by Ras El Hekma Company.
Local officials reviewed land allocation for public services and projects to meet the needs of relocated residents.
The Prime Minister concluded by instructing all parties to secure the necessary resources for service delivery and project completion. (MENA)
