CAIRO, May 17 (MENA) - The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced an 18.3% increase in Egyptian exports to Russia in 2024 to reach $816 million, compared to $690 million in 2023.

The value of trade exchange between Egypt and Iraq recorded $1.1 billion in 2024, compared to $872 million in 2023, an increase of 26.1%, CAPMAS added.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is on a current visit to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to participate in the 34th regular session of the Arab League Council at the summit level.

According to data released by CAPMAS in a statement Thursday, the value of Egyptian imports from Iraq reached $284 million in 2024, compared to $182 million in 2023, an increase of 56%.

The most important commodities exported by Egypt to Iraq in 2024 were fruits and vegetables worth $168.8 million, electronic devices worth $146.7 million as well as oil fruits worth $72.2 million.

Iraq's investments in Egypt stood at $3.7 million in the 2023-2024 fiscal year (FY) against $1.5 million in 2022-2023 FY.
