CAIRO, May 12 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli commended the complete coordination between the government and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE ) to provide the foreign currency needed to scale up the country’s stocks of petroleum goods and supply commodities, in addition to meeting the industrial sector’s needs, especially of raw materials and other production inputs.

Madbouli thanked Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Hassan Abdalla and the bank's officials for their painstaking efforts on that score despite regional and global challenges.

The prime minister's remarks came at a meeting to probe the plan for providing the petroleum products and financial needs ahead of the summer, The meeting took place in the government's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) on Monday and was attended by Abdalla, several ministers and other senior state officials.

Official Spokesman for the Cabinet Mohamed el Homsani said the meeting discussed efforts made by CBE in coordination with the ministries and the bodies concerned to provide financial resources to secure the country’s needs of petroleum products to operate electricity stations and meet all energy demands during the summer season.

The meeting reviewed the policies adopted by the CBE to promote confidence in the national economy, increase the national foreign currency reserves, boost remittances of Egyptian expats, pay Egypt’s dues to international partners and encourage investments.
