CAIRO, May 12 (MENA) - The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that trade deficit reached dlrs 2.33 billion in February 2025, compared to dlrs 3.28 billion for the same month the previous year, a decrease of 29.1%.

The monthly bulletin of foreign trade data for February 2025, issued by the Agency on Monday said, the value of exports increased by 24.1%, reaching dlrs 4.43 billion during February 2025, compared to dlrs 3.57 billion for the same month the previous year due to the increase in the value of exports of some commodities, most notably: Ready-made garments by 30.6%, petroleum products by 12.2%, pasta and various food preparations by 9.3%, and plastics in their primary forms by 3.4%.

The data showed a decline in the value of exports of some commodities during February 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year, most notably fresh fruits by 9.9%, fertilizers by 17.2%, potatoes by 5.2% and iron bars, rods, angles, and wires by 32.3%. (MENA)
