ABUJA, May 11 (MENA) - The 3-Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program aims to shape Nigeria’s digital workforce and support President Bola Tinubu’s vision of two million digital jobs for the youth, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted the country's Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Bosun Tijjani as saying.
Tijani made the remarks during the fourth edition of the Youth Opportunity Summit held in the Nigerian city of Katsina.
The summit, themed ‘Leveraging Opportunities: Building a Future-Ready Youth’, was organized by Hajiya Hauwa Liman, Technical Adviser to the Vice President on Women, Youth Engagement and Impact.
The minister said the program’s goal is to create a skilled workforce and position Nigeria as a global leader in the digital economy and talent export.
He explained that Europe’s ageing population will soon face a workforce shortage, creating opportunities for digitally skilled Africans to fill the gap.
Tijjani stressed that Nigeria’s youthful population must be equipped with relevant skills to thrive in the emerging global economy.
He noted that in Katsina State alone, over 3,000 people have received training, with more sessions planned. (MENA)
